Beda Findling records music to make sense of life. In his lyrics, he cautiously explores conditions that are familiar to all of us, yet difficult to pinpoint. With a Lo-Fi approach to alternative Folk, he invites the listener to an intimate space where the beauty of simple songs and playful experiments can coexist. When Findling gave his first performance at the Helsinki Club in Zurich in December 2022, the crowd listened closely because his lyrics are dense, and he is an invitingly unpredictable performer.
With "Glad Day" he now presents his first ever solo record. The EP compiles six songs and takes the audience on a journey through the author's inner world. The underlying tone of "Glad Day" is relaxed and unobtrusive only at first. Slowing down along with the songs will offer surprises, amusement, or raise long-forgotten sensations. Pointy words, miniature guitar duels, and abrupt style changes repeatedly disrupt the otherwise unagitated Slacker-Pop. Most Songs engage in elaborate inner dialogues. They critically, ironically, and lovingly describe the attempts to build a healthy relationship with oneself. It is a work of art asserting that the purest delights indeed come from within.
